Things have certainly evolved over the years, in a career that has seen Sean working around Australia for Swan, Tooheys, XXXX and even running a brewpub on Vietnam’s Nha Trang coast before taking charge of production at Whitelakes – where now, with a plethora of accolades, degrees and brewing qualifications under his belt, he actively gives back to the industry as chief judge for the Perth Royal Beer Awards amongst a bevy of competitions.

Under Seans direction, Whitelakes Brewery houses their iconic 25 hectolitre HGM brew kit, featuring a hexagonal brew deck designed so a single brewer can effortlessly navigate and manage multiple vessels from a single vantage.

This unique design has carved out a technical, stainless steel heart that has seen Whitelakes Brewing grow from being a quiet achiever to now one of Western Australia’s more prominent figures on the landscape.

On landscape, the positioning of Whitelakes Brewing is set atop one of Western Australia’s most unique backdrops, Lake Walyungup. Inspiration for the name, these ‘white lakes’, despite their otherworldly appearance are home to a world of adventure including the iconic land yacht racers, and of course the simply stunning sunsets that Whitelakes has become synonymous for.

Just like precise movements and technical proficiency exhibited by the land yacht racers, Sean and Whitelakes mission is in part a journey inspired by our landscape, location and attitude.
